We Are Products of Our Environment

You need to be aware that your environment is making you who you are! The right thing to do, is to listen to the right music and self talk programs, watch the right TV and Films (and be Internet surfing and visiting the right sites), that inspire and encourage you. More importantly you need to hang out and socialize with the right type of people that are either already in or heading towards the same type of lifestyle that you want for yourself.

If you are listening to the wrong depressing music, watching the wrong TV and films, following the wrong websites, or hanging out with the wrong types of people that want to drag you down with them. You will struggle to be successful!

You can identify these people who want to drag you down. They love to have little pity parties of how much woe there is in the world and how they have either no answers, or all of the answers as to how they would do things if they were in charge. These people can solve the problems of the world, in one simple statement. Yet they often cannot even balance their own bank check book! No one is immune, I think we all strive to achieve a balance in our work and family life, whilst trying to create the income we need to attain that balance.

To have a wealth consciousness, you have to think wealthy thoughts. How do you do that? I don't have all the answers, especially because I know different things motivate different people! But, I do know that you might have to change some of your friends or cut back on your exposure to them, if you want to be successful. You get a wealth consciousness, partly by listening to positive people and listening to positive self talk programs.

There is a law of attraction and it does work every-time for anyone and every-one. In fact it is, and has always been working in your life, every-day. You have probably just never seen it or realized it was there!

I cannot force you to do anything, or make you truly believe anything that your mind cannot accept as right and true to yourself, your inner self. Perhaps if you watch this video, you will start to believe that we really are products of our environment. If so, you then have the first steps to take toward your own success!

What I do believe is that we are products of our environment!

Change your environment to be more in line with what you want to achieve in your life! What I am saying is that we are not able to blindly become rich and successful, (and that everything will come to us), just because we think positively. That is not going to happen! What I do believe is that we are products of our environment and that we can to some extent control that environment ourselves!

Above all, you have to make your own mind up as to what you want to believe. I hope that watching these videos will help shed some light of the issues I've raised here, about who you socialize with and what you expose yourself to, via audio and TV and so on. Just give it some thought and make up your own mind!

I think that you just have to be aware of what is going into your mind. This input, controls and directs your thoughts. Your thoughts lead you to your actions. And your actions lead ultimately to your income, (or lack of it)!

Starting a Work-From-Home Business?
Make It a Successful One!

There are many reasons why you could be looking to work from home, (ranging from lost jobs to wanting extra income and many other reasons you and I can think of), but; I tell you this, there is a greater reason why you should be wanting to work from home and that is to secure yourself an income that no-one can take from you.

Job security is a thing of the past, if it ever really existed! Look, if you had job security, then how come you are looking for another job now? Did that business go under or downsize? There is only one certainty in life and that is that things will always continue to change!

"If things don't change, they'll stay as they are!"

I've said it before, about people who continue to learn and grow with their ever changing environment. They will survive, those who don't evolve will become extinct! It's no great mystery, you just have to look at history! (Hey, I'm a poet, and now you know it)!

My father always said jokingly, "If things don't change, they'll stay as they are!" There is a simple truth in that, but the reality is that things always do change! You won't always be the person you are today, people grow and develop new tastes and habits.

From a business point of view, if your business is not growing, it will be standing still, stagnant or moving backwards. If you have no business, then what are you going to do with the rest of your life? Be dependent upon other people to run businesses, that can employ you and provide you with the wealth you want?

Unless you have secret fool-proof plan to win the lottery anytime soon, (before you are too old to spend it), then you need something else! You need to be doing something! Just be doing 'something', even if it isn't exactly what you would really love to be doing. Just having any-something, being developed in the background, will help a little with that peace of mind you need.

I won't go to my grave saying I wish I had tried to do x,y, or z. If it is within my power, finance, ability and reach to have a go at something that I think will improve my income, I do my utmost to implement it! So, you need to do something, but what?

I cannot answer that one for you, but I can give you a steer in a similar direction to my own. I work from home! I do this by developing websites and blogs and managing email advertising, all geared at promoting products and services from other companies and marketers. Now, I'm not a millionaire, (yet), in fact, I'm not even close. But I do have something, and that is something more than most have!

'You should always think, research and development, change and implement.

Then do that over and over again'.

What I have is a business and a fair bit of experience in developing that business, so I think that things can only get better from here! Whatever you choose to do these days, I think it has got to be done online! That's my first bit of business advice for you. Next, you should always think, research and development, change and implement. Then do that over and over again.

Whatever you do, will surely become obsolete at sometime in the future. So, you need to do constant research and development to continually grow your business. making and doing, whatever you do better and better. Change that product and the way you market it constantly and implement those changes. So, I reiterate; you should always think, research and development, change and implement. Then do that over and over again!

My next gem of business advice for you, is to get started now! (If you already haven't). You need to be doing a bit in your spare time. Make the time to start a blog on your favorite subject, is one of the best ways to get started. Then learn a little of the legalities of making money online, to stay legal and above board!

The 'How to Make Money Online' is a little harder, but not impossible. You should start with affiliate marketing. This means that you don't need your own product or service, but can actually sell the products and services of other businesses and they will pay you a commission!

Now, we are about done for this post. I'm not going to make this post into a complete "How To" on getting started. Those bits of advice above, were just to (hopefully), motivate you! You now need a guiding hand, and a push in the right direction. There are many places you can go to get the help you need, but one of the best places to get started online, is SBI - called Site Build It!

In the same way that I am promoting this to you, (I make money when and if you buy through my link), and that is only fair don't you think, for helping you in this way? I have just taken my valuable private time to talk to you about how I make my money online and how you too can do the same!

I really do want the best for you, so even if you find something else to make money online with, I am not bothered. I really just hope that you do get started. Maybe, one-day, you will be able to say, 'I got started after reading a post on one of AndyGold's blogs or sites'. That would really be fantastic for you and a great ego boost for me! You can see that I am open an honest with my comments!

Your "To Do" List.

Starting your online activities!
I cannot lie, you will have to work! What's more, you will have to work very hard and be committed to your business. Have you got what it takes? Well, you will soon find out!

This post is aimed at those who have just found this blog and are starting out making money online. I am going to show you some of the free tools I use, and the way I work online. I'll make a post later at my other blog Earn A Great Income, the link is in the sidebar under 'Favorite links' on this page. Look for the Earn A Great Income Blog!

The Earn A Great Income blog deals with getting started for free, and since most of the tools I use are free, that's where you'll find them.

I did have the tools listed in a previous post, so if you were looking for it, I had to have a clear out, because some posts had links in them that had changed and the links then became broken. So, I'm updating that tools post very soon. I'm going to commit now - Its April 26th now, Tuesday eve 10pm, UK GMT. and "I WILL", have the post up, on The Earn A Great Income Blog by Friday 29th 9pm. (How's that for a promise, its on my "to do" list).

So, about this "To Do" list! You will need to be organised and take action. I know you will do what I have done in the past. Here's the mistake, here's the pitfall. You will make your 'To Do' list, and it will get longer and longer and longer. Procrastination is the pitfall, and this then leads to the feeling of being overwhelmed. Then you will give in because it is all too much for you!

When you make a massive list, (you think you are planning ahead), but what you are really doing, is making a massive hill of stuff "to-do", that will get steeper and steeper. Before long you will be looking at that mountain of stuff, "To-Do", that you have created. The TV will start to look ever-so inviting. After-all, you have been working all day at work, then you have spent the last two hours of your own R'n'R time, writing (or mistakenly, maybe you think you are WORKING), on your "To-Do" list!

This business, (working online, for yourself), is "not" a no-brainer! It does require the thinking process, and as you will come to appreciate, the better you think, the more money you will make. "It's a thinking game!" That's good, isn't it! Do you know who said that? I did, just now! Didn't you hear me?

So, how to avoid this mental monster mountain megga-list!
The answer is to just make a start. Look, you are going to get things wrong anyway, so don't worry about it. Just write five things you think you need to do, or look at my blogs for ideas on what you need to be doing, and just do the first five things that appeal to you!

I can hear your cogs turning, you are thinking, how can I write that article, that I have an idea for, if I don't even have a blog to put it on yet? Have you heard, there's an old invention called a pencil and paper! Just get writing, use a napkin if you have to. I try to be prepared at all times. I carry note books for writing ideas down, pencils and pens and a whole array of other bits and pieces, just in case. But often, the best ideas occur to me, just when I have nothing with me, or the batteries are flat in my Dictaphone.

See, look, there's an idea that just popped into my head just as I wrote that last sentence. You see, I have another blog, that is about writing, I write in a different niche to this blog and under a different pseudonym, so I won't mention it here, because I don't need any cross traffic for that blog. But, the idea is, to put a few adverts for 'products', related to making notes and writing. Namely, Dictaphones.

I'll do that when I've finished here. (I've just written a note on my numbered "To Do" list, for that blog, to find an affiliate vendor that supplies Dictaphones and dictation equipment)! - That's how easy it is to have ideas on how to make money online! Where people then fail, is in lack of action, (so, just a minute, because I'm showing you what I do). I've just been off to my Amazon Associates Account and found a Dictaphone to put on my blog!

I want to prove it to you, so I've posted the ad-link to the Dictaphone, somewhere in the sidebar on this blog! Go look for it now! You may be thinking, Ooh, Oooh, that's just what I need and go off and buy it! Then, in that instance, I will make money! Do you see how easy this stuff is? Let me say it again.

So, this business of "To Do" lists, is think it, do it! You will get up to speed, if you just decide to start and never stop, Make a short quick list and move on what you have written.

What are you going to do now? Do you have a blog? If not, quickly go now, and start by setting up a Google account, because this works well with Blogger AKA BlogSpot. Googles own blogging platform. I'm timing you, go do it now, or make it the first thing you do the next time you sit down at your computer!

If you are further along with your business, have you got an email list? Have you got your email capture sorted out? Have you written a series of emails? - If you have, start writing the next set, or start writing for the next project. Set-up a separate blog and email list in a completely different niche, or in the same niche, but with a totally different look and feel, theme and variation.

Remember this for future reference, here's one other big pitfall most past failed business people have discovered at their cost! Don't keep all of your eggs in one basket! When, if a business fails for any reason, it should not cross any paths with any other business you may have, and then you will not lose everything if one aspect of your business drags your whole business down.

That doesn't mean that one side of your "other", separate business, cannot help the other! You can introduce 'The Other Business', in an email to your previous business subscribers. Or place an advert for an apparently different business, that is related. Just like, I will promote a transcribing service to my Twitter followers and blog about it on my writers blog. But for all outsiders impressions, they are separate businesses. No one cares, (or has to know), that they are actually owned and run by the same person!

Anyway, I'm at the end on this now. It has taken me an hour to write this, and I still to edit it and find that ad for the side bar. But, consider that I have been sat watching TV whilst writing this. (watching a parenting program), been off here and there, looking for that "other" project. "The Dictaphone ad", for my other blog, and hopefully, given you something to think about in the process, I think that I have had a productive few hours!

And hey, I don't have to be up for work in the morning! What are you going to do now?
Do this, take action right now. Commit to a minimum of two hours working on your business daily, after you have come home from work, no-matter how tired you think you are, just have a go. If you have nothing yet, make a start right now. Get the Google Account and read up on starting a blog -

A Google account, give you Email, Google Documents to do your writing and keep it safe online. Allows you to Blog on Blogger.com - You can produce PDF's to sell online "How To's". Do you know, How TO? (Whatever your skill or interest is)? How to set up a tropical fish tank! How to bathe the cat! How to make a bed with 'hospital style' corners! Get thinking, what do you know that will or may be of use to others?

Do you think I'm joking, were those 'joke' titles just now? Nope, I personally bought, 'How to set up a tropical fish tank!' When I was starting a new tank!
My sister has 10 or 12 cats, (I can never keep up with the total number), they are like her babies, several are old, blind and deaf and she does everything for them, including bathe them! (As per her ebook).

I only ever tried once to bathe our cat, when he had been under a car, and had oil all over his back! Have you ever tried to bathe a cat? You'll like it even less than the cat if you don't do it the right way!

A hotelier recently advertised 'beds made to precision, with hospital corners'. That was the only reason I chose to stay at that hotel, rather than the first one I saw an advert for! Being the pedantic type that I am, I actually asked the hotel staff about this.

The hotel staff had a printed copy of an ebook, that showed all sorts of bed making styles, how to present a bed, from a four-poster king size to a hammock. It included pillow types and arrangements and how to present them, and even how to get the stubborn quilt, back into its cover!

As a starting point for ideas and writing, remember that peoples interests are varied and basic. Just because you think that something is too easy and basic to do, doesn't mean that everyone can do it, or will know how to do it, or can logically work out the easiest way to do; whatever it is!

e.g. Try finding the battery compartment on an L300 Minibus without the manual, and a dozen more tips just like that, to do with that particular vehicle.

The Secret.

Success doesn't just happen, even if you win the lottery, you still had to do something by way of buying a ticket. If you're not 'in the game' you don't even stand a single chance to win anything! You've got to be in-it-to-win-it!

The same mentality should be applied to all areas of your life! If you are not actively seeking a better income, better lifestyle, to learn and grow, then you will just stand still or even regress. Jobs become stale, trends change and life moves on.

You've got to be ready to change with life, progress to the next level and always keep moving forward.

What will YOU do? TAKE ACTION NOW, or wait till 'something comes your way'?
It is said, that - those who wait for their ship to come in are always missing the boat!

New Years Clear-Out.

I thew out a few posts, so if you are returning to see something you were reading, sorry- its gone! I'm just getting ready for the new year. Are you?
Here goes!

Well. It is that time of year again, when we start making (or even just thinking about) plans for the new-year. New goals and aspirations... (This time we are going to stick to them - aren't we)!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I've heard it all before! No; - but honestly, this time is different! You now have more information about life than you had last year, and life has probably kicked you in the teeth a few more times which has increased your desire to make-it this year!

You need to take some serious action and get some serious money earned... Maybe I can help you with that? I'd sure like to try!

New years resolutions are the best starting point I think, for getting on with your life. Most of the time, we fall into complacent living, (or should I say existing), doing the day-to-day stuff that is demanded of us.

I've said it before and plenty of people I've met agree, that we spend our time working hard for a living, too hard in fact, to think about making any real money or building a financial future for ourselves.

What do you think I know of working hard for a living?
Just who does this AndyGold think he is?
Well, (blame yourself, you got me started). I am qualified to give you motivational advice on the grounds of experience. Like.

Getting home each night from the 9 to 5 grind, or worse the 8 till 6. Well I've played both those games for many years. - And...

Worse still, as I have experience of the 6 till 6 (and sometimes up to 4 hours of added overtime) and that was just the work element, not counting the one hour commute to work and the one-and-a-half-hour return in heavy traffic either side of that, and an hour getting clean after work; (because you come home as black as a coal miner).

There is just enough time to to get your evening meal and retire to bed, because you need to be up at 4-30am to do it all again the next day, SIX days and sometimes SEVEN days a week.. Forget watching the TV, as soon as you sit-still for more than 15 minutes, you're asleep!

It was heavy hard work too, as a welder, manually building metal 30 foot and 40 foot containers, (like the type you see on the back of an articulated lorry), only that these were built to spec as accommodation for building site workers and machinery.

So, now you can see where I get my motivation from. All I have to do is take a short trip down memory lane and that is enough to cure any procrastination I have!

So, - What I want to know is, what about you? What's your motivation?
FAMILY? - Yes, I think FIVE children qualifies me to talk with experience on that front too!

Self-employed?? I have always been self-employed as well as having jobs too. My self-employment started at the age of 11 as a child entertainer! I've worked clubland as a musician till my mid thirties and owned and lost a home and ran and lost three businesses in that time too.

My dad always wanted me to have a "proper-trade" to fall back on, so I studied as an engineer in turning and fitting - doing three years of a four year 'city & guilds' apprenticeship. I didn't complete that because the company I worked for went bust. - (I was still working the night-club scene in the evenings and on weekends).

I also put in some time at my brothers auto-garage doing clutches and breaks, servicing and bodywork etc if I had any evenings off or Sundays free.

Being a semi-skilled turner and fitter / turner mechanic, helped - beat the other applicants for my next apprenticeship - I was trying to keep my turning and fitting course going and changed to another employer, but this time I was steel-erecting doing a Plating and Welding apprenticeship - City & Guilds again.

The course required one day a week release from work and two evenings, so I had to give up my turning and fitting and start along a new career path. Guess what happened 2 years later... Yep, they had big lay-offs, that's when I decided to follow my main true passion - Music (and started selling glass-ware).

I've run my own bar-&-restaurant-supplies business (with two business partners), selling to the licenced trade for 4 years, (with sales booming, one of the partners liquidated his part of our business without telling us and we lost the business to a competitor, due to losing our buying power yearly-contracts etc)..

I've owned & ran my own Yamaha Music School (dealer-tied franchise) for 15 years; (The main dealer went into receivership and I lost my very profitable business too).

I have been a private music teacher overlapping all of that and in addition, ran several bands and been in plenty of bands too. I've worked abroad, done cruise ships and ferries entertainment. So. I've kept myself pretty busy over the years!

There's more, but - I hope that's enough info for you to get the picture. I don't know what else I can say to you, to convince you that I know what I'm talking about.

And what I'm talking about, is getting your-self motivated to make money on-line, with a sense of urgency. You see, thangs-are-a-changing'. The Internet, online business world, is moving a million-miles-an-hour and you need to be a part of it.

With every day, week, month that passes, more and more technological advances are altering the way the Internet is used in business, and the legal side of trade and enterprise is not far behind, and is making ever increasing demands on online business owners to conform to new legislation.

A few years ago, it was simply a matter of putting up your product page with an address to send cheque's to, and possibly a few pictures and brief description and you were up and running. If you were polite, you'd put up a privacy policy page and and "about us" page just to give more weight to your real business.

Now - new legislation requires or soon will require you to have more legal pages than you can shake a stick at. This is good, especially for the client and customer and for you as an online business owner. HOWEVER....

My point is, the sooner you make a start the better. Because starting a website from scratch will have to incorporate all these new legal pages and this will be a bigger and higher mountain to climb.. Looking at all the things you now have to comply with, as opposed to when I started, will seem insurmountable.

So, with all those problems in mind, wouldn't it be great, if there were a simple answer. Something that gave you versatility to market products and services that were already a proved success. Topped off with full legal conformity, that is managed and updated and run by professionals, but where YOU are in charge.

Where's your career going?

Hi, I'm late again with posting, I know!

Look, I've just been a little busy with PPC campaigns, Twittering, (on twitter of course), and helping other people sort out their lives - with things like goal setting. On a similar line perhaps, career, income, online business building, being self-employed, and showing people.. 'How To Make Money In A Recession', somehow, qualifies me to tell you, that building an online business is what you should do!

So. How can I get the message through? Let me try this way...

I wanted to talk about a friend of mine from some time ago, (yes, of course I have friends). He and I were talking about working for yourself and having the right type of business for this modern age. "Anything that makes decent money", was his answer, when asked as to what he thought 'the right type' of business was.

He explained that he had a career, he was a joiner, only that for the last five years he had to find other work because the joinery-work was mainly out-of-town work and he wanted to spend more time with his wife and three young children.

He had LEARNED his joinery, from his father and school, done it at college and now had a CAREER he said! However, spent about two or three days a week at home looking after the kids because his wife had to work part-time to support them, as well as being on state benefits. This was time spent watching day-time TV, some house-work and playing computer and console-games!

He said he felt, he had lost respect, pride, direction and focus, because of the lack of joinery-work, industry decline, the recession etc. And on, and on he went!

My dad used to say - with tongue in cheek, "If things don't change, they'll stay as they are!" How true!

"Things change, your environment changes, you need to move with the times, or you get left behind", I told him. The statement goes something like. "In times of change, learn-ERS inherit the world, whilst the learn-ED will find themselves well equipped to function in a world, that no-longer exists". (Don't quote me, I don't even know who said it, but the gist of it is correct)!

Hint, hint, I was trying to tell him that you have to find ways to make money, so that you can have real freedom to work how and when you want.

I had tried to convince him that working online, for yourself, was the way to go these days, because it affords being able to work how and when you want, from anywhere in the world that you can get an Internet connection. He was not interested, he had no 'I want to work for myself-get-up-and-go' in him. He explained that he had a career as a joiner. It was what he knew and how he wanted to make his money.

Fine! I said, perhaps if its just the joinery you like, you could earn most of your money online, in a business that allows you to work from anywhere in the world. I'll help you, (no-charge for my help, that's what friends are for). You will do the work of building your own business and you can spend as much time on it as you like, -in your spare time or even commit special time to it.

"Its up to you" I said. Get started easily and for free and earn some extra money! When you can see the sense in it, put more time into it and build yourself an ongoing, residual, full-time-income.

Then you can put as much time in to building the things you actually want to build in your joinery business. You can run your joinery business and be able to choose the jobs, rather than having to take whatever comes your way, in the right location.

He admitted he had just invited me to see him, because I had obviously moved on financially from when he last knew me. He wanted to ask if I or any of my rich friends wanted work doing, he was desperate for money urgently, (as was always the case as I remember).

I was trying to get at the root of the issue, that he couldn't see. We had been doing the idle-chit-chat routine for some time before that, when he told me that there was no-decent-money to be made in joinery anymore!

He had work offers but they were all over the country and he'd have to be away from wife family and live on a tight budget to make it pay even a measly wage.

He had explained to me that he had previously turned his hand to numerous things in order to make-ends-meet, working as a 'runner-in' for a taxi company, done delivering pizzas and kebabs, had been a window cleaner for a while, done some plastering for a mate who was ill, (stick with me, I'm going somewhere with all this)!

He had also done some part-time work at McDonald's, been a fore-court attendant at a gas station, built rabbit-hutches for a friend and made others to sell in the local papers and continued to do that for extra money.

He had done garden clearance and gardening services like cutting grass and hedges, (err, he hates gardening), laid a patio and worked on a conservatory with an ex colleague and also laid carpets and done plumbing for several people and some light electrical work.

I pointed out that he seemed to be pretty flexible and clever; He said he understood and enjoyed surfing the Internet and had done free courses in computerised accounting and word processing etc, whilst scraping by on state-benefits and odd bits of money he made, doing all the various work mentioned above.

On quizzing him further, I found out that he was not on any agencies books as looking for work as a joiner, (because he didn't even know these agencies existed). None of the contractors he had previously worked for had been in contact with him for several years and he had not contacted them!

He was always looking for the next fast buck, to fill in the time. A quick bit of work here and there. He wanted local part-time work only, because his 'career' was too important to jeopardize. After-all, he had to keep himself reasonably free and available in case a big job came in, etc. And so he went back and forth and in and out of different part-time jobs, with no particular direction.

Another friend recently mentioned the syndrome of 'mental constipation', where we can get stuck in a rut, maybe believing or fooling our-selves that that next important job that pays good money will surface at any time. The truth is, this may not ever happen! You cannot feed your family on 'ifs', and 'Buts'.

I like to tell it how I see it. I also love to say "I told you so", only because I want to drive home the simple fact that I have experience of life. That experience has taught me, to 'listen', when other 'wealthy people', talk, if they are teaching me how to gain more wealth! etc.

Life has kicked me in the teeth too many times in the past for me to become complacent with making money and keeping family and friends content. If you, as my friend, complain to me that you haven't got enough cash in your life, then I'll tell you how to get it.

I'm not going to get down on the floor with you and cry about how mean and cruel life can be. I'll stand up and keep getting up every time life knocks me down and smack life back right in the teeth and follow through with an upper-cut, and then give it one more smack, right on the snot-box just for good measure!

I'm done with working hard for a living, scraping the barrel for pennies etc.

It annoys me when people brag, (or complain), that they are spending lots of their valuable time on this earth, sitting in-front of the TV or playing console games, or having to work extra shifts or part-time jobs, to make enough money to live!

Yet, they cannot seem to find the time to build themselves a living, working for themselves, online. Turn off the 100,000 income a year life stealer. Yes, I mean the television! Get your computer on, and start blogging about your interest and area of knowledge. Link in some affiliate products and make a start!

An online business, for the most part, will sit there patiently waiting for you to do more work on it! You can set the hours and say 'not today', if you want! A job working for a boss won't, if you don't turn-up, on-time and ready for work on a regular basis, you'll be collecting a dole-check on a more regular basis!

Now - being the sarcastic type that I am, I have to point out something that came to me, whilst I was looking through my dictionary for another word. My eyes were drawn to this word and I immediately thought of my friend, the one who had to do all those different jobs, until he got his career restarted.

Hi, sorry I've left you here all alone since Feb 09.

- C'mon - have you missed me, its only been about 60 days! I usually only post about once every 30 days. (That's why I refer to it as my monthly blog, so thanks for the complaints AND compliments, (you know who you are)).

I have been using Twitter, like everyone else I know, so I thought it was about time I let you in on some tips and trick that I have learnt.

The Object Of The Game!
Traffic! Traffic! Traffic! (Like with owning property, its location, location, location). There is no point in doing anything on the net if you have NO-TRAFFIC!

(unless you are just using the net to store files so that you can access them from anywhere in the world. (Hummm! I never thought of that, that's a good idea))!

Anyway.. Twitter, (don't quote me directly because the figures are changing daily, but for all intents and purposes), Twitter is growing exponentially. - Like 2,500% to date (1st May 2009) since Feb 2008. Some say Twitter is slowing some say it is still growing on a mega scale.

I don't really care about the figures from here on in, because all I have realised is that;-

Twitter is MASSIVE,

whether it is slowing or not, it IS still

big enough for ANYONE to make money on.

I'll give you this little tip (or heads up), 'If you cannot make money using Twitter, then you had better start looking for a day job because you will never succeed at anything on the net, if you cannot make twitter work for you!'

Business on the net is DRIVEN by one thing only - (can you guess what it is?)

TRAFFIC! - I'm no guru, but I do know and listen to lots of them. The general consensus is that - 'Nothing happens on the net WITHOUT TRAFFIC'.

Twitter, has got to be the easiest way for ANYONE, even a complete newbie to get traffic!

I am NOT saying that developing a large Twitter account is EASY; (although IT IS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING)! I am saying that even without trying, people are building massive twitter accounts just by being themselves and being active on-line, on twitter.

Just talk about what interests you on twitter and lots of people (TWEEPLE), will start to follow you! What can be easier than that? All you need is a bit of guidance from there on in and you will be able to make money! This is really just a numbers game at its simplest level.

Make Money In A Recession!

So we find ourselves in a recession! This is bad for most people, but, it is also very good for some people that have a business well placed to help others. (You can do this too)!

Rather like how the plague could be good for funeral directors! - ok, - bad analogy, but what I'm trying to say, is that many more people are now turning to the Internet to make a living. That is great for people like me who are already placed to help them avoid the pitfalls, (I fell into most of them myself), and hopefully I can help people avoid them and make the right decisions.

I'm going to assume that you need money!
Why else would you be reading or listening to me! This is the BEATING the 9 to 5 blog after all! So, I'm making a logical assumption. I know I'm entertaining, funny and witty, intelligent and handsome, wise and of course very modest. (ha ha). but, if you are here looking for a cake recipe, you are in the wrong place!

I'll assume, that you know what you want. Money, income, lifestyle. You are in the right place!
How are you going to make money online? First, you are going to concentrate on setting everything up online, it is basically the same process for whatever area or niche you finally decide upon specializing in.

You will then concentrate on making your first dollar online. If you can do it once, you can do it again and again, thousands of times! When you have a bit of a hobby income, you can decide to go into business properly and start part-time or full time depending on how successful you are!

"Common sense", may make you think that, in this time of recession, you'd have to be crazy to start up a business. After all, it seems logical, who will buy from you if no-one has any money because of the recession.

I would like to believe there is such a thing as common sense, but what I actually see and believe is people making common assumptions! There is no-such thing as common-sense! Most people do exercise good logical thinking, but common sense, certainly is not, common. If you drive a car on the public road, you will know that!

It's like a giant game of space-invaders, where everyone is out to cut-you-up, or p-you-off in some way. Everyone else seems to be arrogant and stupid, with a death-wish to match. Rushing about everywhere, not- giving-way, taking your turn at the cross-roads when you was there first, and you are in the larger vehicle! Look, just don't get me started, ok, pass me that brown paper-bag, so that I can stop hyperventilating.

That's better. OK. People aren't stupid, they just go on ASSUMPTIONS. We all do it. Things need to be pointed out and backed up with a bit of history, before people can use logic and make an informed decision either way. That gives me an idea, just a minute.

2 hours later. Well, if you read the previous post, called "Hi I'm AndyGold", you'll know where and what I've just been up to. - Let's continue.

So, you will need some background information from history, to help your self-belief, to show you that it is possible to start a business in a recession. What's more, you need to know why this is the very best time to start an online business. So, here it is.

The information age.
Skip this history lesson if you like - but I warn you, that would be a newbie mistake!
• William Hewlett and David Packard founded Hewlett-Packard in 1939, when the Great Depression had been underway for a full decade. The Great Depression was a worldwide economic recession. Starting in 1929 and ending at different times in the late 1930s to early 1940s, it was the largest and most important economic depression in modern history.

It is used today as an example of how the whole world economy can fall. - But HEY! They didn't have the Internet!• 1945, Hiroshima. JAPAN was struck by the Makurazaki Typhoon. (Typhoon Ida), one of the largest typhoons of the time. August , 1945, the nuclear weapon was dropped on Hiroshima, then again in August, 1945, Nagasaki was the target of the world's second atomic bomb attack.

In 1946 Akio Morita, and Masaru Ibuka, co-founded Sony Corporation, originally named Tokyo Telecommunications Engineering Corporation. All this was done whilst the country had been devastated by war and nature, and was still occupied by a foreign power.

If Akio Morita, and Masaru Ibuka, had failed to start their business back then, no-one could have questioned their excuses, that the state of the war torn country and financial environment was against them!

So, what is your excuse? I could list several more scenarios like this, but I'll leave those for future posts if I may. All I'm saying, is take a long, hard look at whatever your excuses are, and they will be nothing by comparison to Akio Morita, and Masaru Ibuka's, when they were building their business!

Teach them to fish!A business start up can not only survive, but thrive in times of economic crisis. YOU can do the same as me. THE INFORMATION AGE!

Newbies especially let themselves get taken for a ride, not deliberately, but may I suggest that its more out of their lack of knowledge, that they take themselves for that ride. Trying every little method half-heartedly, not ever doing it right, making simple (and stupid mistakes), not putting the time required into their program. Just simple things that will cause newbies to fail.

The above is a correct definition of why newbies are called NEWBIES!

For you, it doesn't have to be this way! You can cut out the pit-falls and do it the right way!
For a start, don't go giving up your day job just yet! You will need time to learn and absorb this new way of working. It is a new way to work for you anyway, as many hundreds of thousands of people are already making fantastic incomes, (by comparison to an average day job wage), already.

You can start making money online, without spending any, but it will take you a lot longer to get started, and you will be mostly alone in getting the tuition you need. Except for where you can pick up bits of information, that will be all disjointed and not come to you in any specific order! You may know, or think you know, what you need to learn next. But how can you be sure? You will eventually learn enough to start making money online, but you could be years away from making your first dollar, or it could happen once tomorrow, then never happen again.

I enjoy helping others, but I don't have the time to labour over any one single persons online accounts and activities, to make sure that they are doing everything correctly. If you are going for the no-cost route, (except time input and ISP costs of course), you will have to take your chances with everyone else! Following blogs like mine, will give you the edge, so please hang in there and I will try to post as much useful information and free help as I can for you!

However, if you stick with it, you will eventually get around to investing in the tools and programs I use. They really are essential for your success. I just hope that you will purchase any of these tools and education courses and products through my blog links. It will be a way of thanking me for all this time and effort I'm putting into, helping you!

I thought I'd use this first post to introduce myself, I'm new-ish to blogging, well about my stuff, the things I want to blog about. I'm used to adding comments on other peoples views and interests etc, but I thought it was about time I started doing my own thing!

I'm sick of all this talk of recession, I get upset when people loose their jobs, yet I am surprised that, despite one put-down after another, one lay-off after another, wage cuts and three day working weeks, people still have faith in working for someone else!

My aunt who lives in Australia, visited yearly throughout my childhood, my uncle was / is a church envoy. They did loads of travelling all over the world. They always had magical and mysterious stories to tell. So from a very young age I dreamt of travel, being rich and being my own boss.

Yes, that last one seems a bit strange. A small boy, thinking of being his own boss. I just always expected it to be. I was always
in charge when playing games, (and 'no', I wasn't a bully or anything, in-fact I was always referred to as gentle and polite). I just made sure that I knew the rules of the game and made sure everybody played by them! Even the other kids in the street used to come to me to sort their little disagreements - like I would always choose the fair option, or tried to make sure everyone came out a winner!

I have always hated cheats, (even to this day, as I admit to playing the odd PS2 or xBox game now and then, (an understatement if any), I refuse to cheat and use the short-cuts). Anyway, I digress, I like to have the odd modifier of course, so long as everyone is in agreement.
e.g. Monopoly, the youngest player, or new player who needs help - gets it, that sort of thing. I love fair play.

It's important to me to tell you this, because that is why I am actually a very bad sales-person, I suck at it! That is, if you measure my results by fellow team colleagues that I've worked with in the past, or other competition. I put it down to the fact that I cannot sell something to someone, if I think it will harm them, not be the right thing for them, be too expensive, not as good as they can get else-where. So now you know why, I HAVE TO WORK FOR MYSELF! - I don't think anyone would offer me a job, not in sales anyway.

I digress again! My aunt 'Irene' from Australia, once said to me when I was a small boy,
"Early to bed, early to rise, makes a good man healthy, wealthy and wise!" It just seemed to stay with me.

I think truths and beliefs are what you make of them, you see,... I believed it! - I still do. As a result I have most everything that I want in my life. My wife and I are still in a loving relationship after 25+ years, (yes - with each other, I just thought I'd clarify that)! We've had five children together, two have flown the nest and three remain, but are growing up fast.

I worked, helping my father from around the age of 6 or 7, there were always jobs he needed help with - (or so it seemed, maybe he was just being a good father and was teaching me good work ethics, anyway, I thank him for it). I worked as a child / Young musician professionally from the age of eleven. I've been self-employed ever-since.

I love those sayings, especially the ones you know are truthful, make sense and fall into line with ones belief system. Here's one I hold in high regard.
"Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Show him, 'HOW TO FISH', and he can feed himself and his family for the rest of his life".

I don't know how accurately I've recited that, people seem to have slightly different versions, but the meaning and implication remains the same.
So perhaps I'm finally getting to the point. As you can see, I like everything to be fully explained, so if you are still reading this, hopefully with some interest as to where I'm taking this, you can start to see what type of person I am, and the fact that I like a certain amount of detail.

This detail is good for you, I am my own man, I like to earn my own money. I have a good head for business and making money. I do it with ease these days online. I like to teach and or show people 'how to fish' for their own income, to make it on their own efforts. That is why I run a site called Websites-Make-Money, (dot com and dot co dot u k).-
If you want a piece of the pie, (feels like another 'saying' coming on), your going to have to WORK for it.

Don't believe all the hyped claims that, you can do X or Y business and it only takes 2 hours a day, heck, I've spent 4 hours just sorting out stuff for this blog, plus I've been working all day on my other websites! (and its a Sunday)! If you really want to make money online, or do already, you'll soon find out that it takes a little longer than the mighty claims from some of the self-proclaimed guru's. (I'm not one of them)!

Take a look at my posts I'll be making, comment on what you think and feel about the businesses that I use to make a lot of income with. I tend to use affiliate marketing / business to business and marketing to newbies, people looking to find financial Independence online. So, finally getting to the point, I'd like to tell you why my business is booming, or rather, the industry I'm in, but you'll have to read my next post, because that's where I started writing. The Place Where I Make My Money!

Beating the 9 to 5.

I hate having to go to work - 9 to 5 or even 6 to 6 - 12 hour shifts. The shift work was good pay, thick end of £600 per week in your hand, with plenty of overtime, I could push that to £880 take-home-pay on my best ever week.

BUT, (and its a BIG BUTT), I hate being away from my family day after day and being too tired when I finally do make it home, to do anything but eat and sleep.

I used to have to travel, just over an hour to get to work, when I was a welder for a short part of my career.

Getting up at 4am, getting ready for work, breakfast, my wife would make my pack-up lunch.. Sometimes the kids would get up to see me off, then they'd go back to sleep on the sofa for a couple of hours before having to get up for school at 7am.

One hour travel to work, 12 hours at work, with 30 minutes for my lunch and two 15 minute breaks spaced evenly somewhere in there. (That's if we got the time, get behind on production and you kiss your breaks goodbye)!

Then, often, in the last hour of work, the boss would ask us on short notice, to work till 7, 8 or even 9pm. It was made clear that you didn't 'have-to' do it, yet that the company would loose the order, and that you could kiss your job goodbye by the end of the month! (So, there was no-pressure there then)!

If you did finish at 6pm, you would only spend an extra 30 to 45 minutes stuck in nose-to-tail traffic, especially if there were any accidents delaying the journey home! But basically, add another hour and a half travelling back, plus I'd spend 30 minutes after work just getting somewhere near clean enough to get in the car, so that I didn't get the interior of the car black with carbon dust and grease from the steel I worked with.

Then I'd make a flask of strong coffee to keep me awake on the journey back home, then set off with the radio blasting out and the windows rolled down to stop me falling asleep at the wheel!

Arrive home 7-30 to 7-45pm at best, if there was no over-time to do. And if the traffic was OK, (with no accidents blocking the road etc, probably caused by people falling asleep at the wheel)!

I'd spend a short part of the evening chatting with the kids, whilst eating my evening meal, then taking a long soak in a hot bath. Where my wife often had to wake me up, to go to bed. Or I'd fall asleep whilst eating my evening meal and simultaneously working on the computer, online, learning and building my online presence.

Often getting to bed for between 10 pm and midnight, or often falling asleep at the computer. My wife would wake me, and remind me, I've got to be up at 4am to do it all again! Six days a week! (except stopping at 4pm on Saturdays).

The Pay-Off!
So I swapped all that crap, yes I said 'crap', for sitting at home in my chair working on the Internet, doing an hour on my exercise bike every weekday, being a full time father and husband.

And... oh.. making many more times the money I used to make, when I was digging my own grave, in that rut of a welding job! So please get yourself some perspective on your life, if it is anything like mine was!
